The Salvation Army Cares for Kids provides safe haven for children ages 0-11, who have been removed from their home environment when there is a concern for their safety or welfare. The Office Of Children Services and Anchorage Police Department rely on The Salvation Army – Cares for Kids to assess and stabilize children who come from unhealthy and often tragic situations.

In this safe environment children are cared for by loving staff, participate in fun and educational activities and recreation, and enjoy nutritious meals and snacks.

Strengthening Families & Preventing Child Abuse in Alaska

Spotlight

The Salvation Army – Cares for Kids has been home to hundreds of Alaska's children. The majority of these children are removed due to abuse and/or neglect. The staff at The Salvation Army – Cares for Kids provide a caring and safe atmosphere which allows a child heal from the trauma in their lives.
