a community partnership to assist Anchorage school children begin the school year with the supplies and warm winter coats they need




HOW YOU CAN HELP . . .

children from families in need start the school year with the proper school supplies and new or gently used coats: donate items, organize a supply drive, or volunteer. Here’s how you can help:
        1. Send your donation today to help us make sure that Anchorage area children are prepared to start the school year ready to learn.

        2. Bring your donations of coats, backpacks, calculators and markers to a HUGSS & Coats for Kids collection center in Anchorage.

        3. Volunteer to help distribute the supplies and coats on August 12 & 13 at the Mt. View Community Center and Boys & Girls Club.

    HUGSS & Coats for Kids Wish List
    • New or gently used winter coats of all sizes (working zippers, no rips or stains)
    • packages of unsharpened #2 pencils


    Cash Donations
    • can be made at all Wells Fargo Bank Alaska Stores or you can donate on-line at:
    • $25 will purchase a backpack filled with supplies.
    • $93 will provide warm winter coats for 6 children.
    • $324 will help 8 children return to school with coats, backpacks and school supplies.
    • Be sure to specify that your donation is for HUGSS and Coats for Kids!


    Volunteer
    • We need volunteers to help with distribution on August 10-13. Call 64-HUGSS for opportunities to volunteer.



    Last year HUGSS & Coats for Kids helped 5,000 kids in the Anchorage Area!

DO YOUR KIDS NEED SCHOOL SUPPLIES. . .

• Low income families and individuals may receive school supplies and coats for
K-12, school-aged children.
• Distribution site: Mountain View Community Center and Boys & Girls Club, 315 North
Price Street. (Parking is limited, so try to car pool or take the bus.)
• Distribution days will be based on the following ZIP codes:

      9 a.m.–1:30 p.m. or 4 p.m.–7 p.m.
