Salvation Army on Alert 14/09/2012
(Anchorage, Alaska) In preparation for the severe wind storm this weekend, The Salvation Army has placed its emergency response personnel on standby and will be ready to serve meals and offer showering facilities should Anchorage experience another significant power outage like occurred last week.
Salvation Army officials will determine Sunday morning if there is need to open a day shelter at the organization's Anchorage Corps Community Center, located at 1701 C Street. Emergency services at the building would include meal service and access to shower* facilities as follows:
Sunday, September 16: 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Monday-Friday: &nb sp; 6:00 am - 9:00 am
(as needed) & nbsp; &nb sp; 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
* Those using shower facilities should bring towels, shampoo and other personal hygiene items.
