The Salvation Army takes hunger seriously. We count on our generous donors to help sustain those in need.
In tough times, many hard-working families turn to The Salavation Army for help. They tell us that after paying the rent and buying gas to get to work, there is often little money left for food. With emergency food boxes, The Salvation Army offers the basics; including canned fruit, vegetables, protein and carbohydrates.
Our Older Alaskans Programs provides meals to seniors in around the Anchorage community during the week.
We also provide a community Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner where everyone is welcome.
If you are in Anchorage and would like to donate items for our food boxes please call our Family Services office in the S.A.F.E. center at 277-2593 or visit us at 1712 A Street.
If you are outside of Anchorage and would like to donate food items please contact The Salvation Army nearest you.
