THE CASCADE DIVISION WELCOMES A NEW
DIVISIONAL COMMANDER: LT. COLONEL EDA HOKOM

Lt. Col. Eda Hokom grew up on a small dairy farm in Idaho as the middle of five children. She began attending church at The Salvation Army at the age of two and was involved in all the youth programs. As a teen and young adult, Eda was an active participant at the corps as well as a Sunday school teacher and youth leader.

BOISE, ID ( IDAHO) - There will be a class of 2011 at the Marian Prichett High School. The Boise School District has somehow found the funding to keep the doors open, so there was reason for extra celebration at this year's commencenment. Boise State Public Radio's George Prentice reports.

JUNIOR LEAGUE OF PORTLAND INSPIRES YOUNG MOTHERS AT WHITE SHIELD

There is so much running through a new mother's mind, how much formula and food to give her baby, when to start potty training, when she will be able to fit in some sleep. Every mother hopes to start her child's life out right, encouraging and supporting them from birth to be loving, caring and successful individuals.

In an outreach project through the Junior League of Portland, the girls at The Salvation Army White Shield Center will hopefully start their babies reading from birth.

Through a program called "Bring Me a Book" . . .
