GRESHAM TEEN RECEIVES SURPRISE!

Hailey Rowden has no idea what is about to happen to her. She’s been sitting in Row AA at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, listening to some of the finest fingers around coax jazz, boogie woogie and classical music from a stage full of grand pianos.

JUNIOR LEAGUE OF PORTLAND INSPIRES YOUNG MOTHERS AT WHITE SHIELD

There is so much running through a new mother's mind, how much formula and food to give her baby, when to start potty training, when she will be able to fit in some sleep. Every mother hopes to start her child's life out right, encouraging and supporting them from birth to be loving, caring and successful individuals.

In an outreach project through the Junior League of Portland, the girls at The Salvation Army White Shield Center will hopefully start their babies reading from birth.

Through a program called "Bring Me a Book" . . .

Salvation Army emergency services were immediately mobilized to provide support and comfort following a devastating 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Chile during the early hours of Saturday morning (27 February).

Disney Parks has recently begun promoting their 'Give a Day. Get a Disney Day.' volunteer campaign with the goal of inspiring one million people to volunteer a day of service to a participating organization in their communities. The program runs from January 1 through December 15, 2010.
