Released 20 August 2009
The Salvation Army of Petaluma, in partnership with our area Kohl's store, provided a shopping spree for 35 disadvantaged children through the "Kohl's Cares for Kids" program. Volunteers from the Salvation Army Auxiliary and community volunteers acted as chaperones, to help the children shop, while 20 volunteers from Kohl's assisted the shoppers, acted as cashiers and provided breakfast for the children and their chaperones.
Each child was given a gift card to purchase back to school clothes and shoes. As the children left, they were given a backpack filled with school supplies.
The Salvation Army would like to offer our thanks to Kohl's for their community spirit in meeting needs in Petaluma.
