The Salvation Army Depot Family Crisis Center celebrated 20 years of changing lives with a commemoratory dinner event on the night of October 12. The Depot is a family shelter administered by the Yuba-Sutter Corps that transforms lives through teaching sober living and life skills. The 66-bed shelter offers a chance for families to enter TSA's transitional housing and beginning a new life.

Dinner guests were served a delicious meal of tri tip, twice-baked mashed potatoes, veggies and a salad, and cheesecake for dessert. Participants of the program had the opportunity to learn etiquette skills, and served the guests at the dinner. Local dignitaries were on hand, including the guest chef, Sutter County Supervisor Stan Cleveland. Senator Doug LaMalfa and Assemblyman Jim Nielson presented Captain Tom Stambaugh, Yuba Sutter Corps Officer, with a plaque commemorating the 20th anniversary. These officials talked about how touching the event was. Assemblyman Nielson remarked that the testimonies given by the alumni of the program helped give him hope.
