
An anonymous donor inserted a check written for $10,000 into a Salvation Army Red Kettle at a Safeway in Menlo Park on Friday. This comes just three days after another anonymous donor dropped a $5,000 donation into a Salvation Army kettle at a Safeway a Redwood City. The Red Kettle Campaign, which began in San Francisco, is one of the most recognizable and important charitable campaigns in the United States and supports programs that serve people in the communities where the money was raised.

Starting Thursday, December 15, 24 Salvation Army volunteer bell ringers in cities across America will compete against each other in an attempt to set a world record for the longest continuous hand bell ringing by an individual. The contestants will seek to raise awareness for The Salvation Army’s 120th Red Kettle Campaign and support the Mission of The Salvation Army in serving people in need.
