About The Christmas Angel Community Center
The Salvation Army Christmas Angel Program is facilitated by the Christmas Angel Committee. Businesses throughout the community participate in the program. Christmas Angel Trees and Christmas Angel Tags are distributed to those businesses who participate in the program. The tags are placed on trees for community members to take and fill by buying a new clothing item and a new toy item for each tag. Each tag lists a boy or girls clothing size and describes a toy fitting the child's age group.
It's the Christmas Angel Committee's wish that each that each child receive a new article of clothing and a new toy.
The purchased clothing and gifts are returned to the business from which the tag was chosen and then delivered to The Salvation Army Christmas Angel Community Center for distribution to families.
The Christmas Angel Tree Tags are intended to fill the wishes of all age groups by collecting specific new toys and new clothing. The tags are designed to fill The Christmas Angel Community Center with enough new toys and clothes to meet the needs of our community.
Families who visit The Christmas Angel Community Center are interviewed by staff to qualify to receive help from The Christmas Angel Community Center. After the family qualifies, a Salvation Army Volunteer helps the family shop in The Christmas Angel Community Center for their family.
The Christmas Angel Committee is made up of volunteers who prepare Christmas Angel Tree Tags and are responsible for distribution of them to the various businesses. Tags must be completed, sorted, colored and stringed before they are ready for distribution. The Committee starts their work in September and completes it on Christmas Eve.
