Thank you to US Bank for the recent gift of 1,827 pairs of new socks to The Salvation Army, as part of the Employee Sock Collection Campaign. The first-time project was created by our corporate bank, and takes our partnership to a new level of helping the community.
Throughout December 2011, employees donated new socks for adults and children. Now, The Salvation Army will distribute items throughout Western Washington to families in need. Although a new pair of socks might seem like a small item, it can mean so much to someone's comfort.
Our services and programs already reach our neighbors in need - and these new socks will be a nice surprise for them. Among the clients who will receive the items are working families trying to make ends meet in a difficult economy; kids in our after-school tutoring, athletic, and music programs; mothers and children in our domestic violence shelters; senior citizens in our free lunch and dinner programs; and men and women in our homeless shelters.
Thank you US Bank for making a difference in our community.
