The Silvercrest Residence, operated by the Salvation Army, is to be a place of comfort and security for eligible, self-sufficient seniors who will live in an atmosphere of Christian warmth and friendliness without discrimination.
This is an independent living facility offering housing for adults age 62 and older who are ambulatory, able to care for themselves and their apartments, and are financially stable. Residents may be single or married. The services provided include ten meals per week, scheduled programs and activities. The apartment complex does not provide nursing or personal care services. It is designed to be a residence where older adults may enjoy fellowship, activities, and personal growth in a warm and secure environment. Housed in a six-story building, this is a residential complex of 118 one-bedroom apartments and five studio apartments.
The apartment rental fee for one person is $1000 for a studio and $1200 for a one-bedroom. The married couple rate is $1350, only available in the one-bedroom units. This rental fee includes all utilities except the telephone. There is no reduction in the rental fee for residents who choose not to eat meals that are provided.
This is a program of the Salvation Army, a private, non-profit agency. It is administed by the Salvation Army's Southern California Divisional Headquarters and is funded through the rents of the residents.
