| As part of our celebration of National Salvation Army Week, NBC7/39 and The Salvation Army give away TEN brand new bikes, helmets and locks to deserving children whose parents would find it difficult to purchase a bike. Schools nominate the children. The bikes are purchased through generous donations to the Bikes for Kids program. NBC Weatherman Whitney Southwick presents the bikes, talking to the children about bike safety and The Golden Rule. Bikes for Kids Director Marie Romeo put the entire program together.
