WHAT WE DO

WHAT WE DO

We are The Salvation Army.

Our work is to meet human needs without discrimination in your community.

Our goal and our promise is to do the most good possible.

As Evangeline Booth wrote shortly after World War I, "... there is no reward equal to that of doing the most good to the most people in the most need."

Our programs include services to pregnant teens, those lost in alcohol and drugs, families and individuals in financial, physical, and spiritual distress, seniors needing a nutritious meal and fellowship. We reach out to the homeless, who need a warm bed for the night or a new start with counseling. We offer job training and a place to stay for up to a year.

Salvation Army Corps Community Centers offer social services which vary according to the needs of the community. All corps offer food and food boxes for those in need. All offer help with clothing and shelter or referrals and vouchers. Some corps include day care, senior nutrition, and a place of shelter. Many commmunity centers include before and after school programs, scouting programs, music opportunities, tutoring, senior activities, and classes. All corps provide scholarships for summer camp for children and teens.

All corps will help those seeking freedom from addiction and can assist in placing individuals in Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Programs.

Salvation Army officers are ordained ministers who are available to counsel those in need and to pray with them if they wish. Most corps have a sanctuary for quiet prayer and offer Worship Services on Sundays. There is also Sunday School, Bible Study, prayer breakfasts, prayer meetings, Women's Ministries, Men's Fellowship, songsters, band and music instruction, and character building programs for youth.
