In May of 2007 a lady named Mary came to our office for assistance, she was homeless and struggling in many ways. She has four kids that were beside her during her time of sickness. Before she came to see us she was diagnosed with cancer.
Fortunately she recieved medical attention and was able to survive during that tough time in her life. Being that we are a non-profit organization and struggling financially; there was only so much that we could help her with. We helped Mary and her kids with a month in a hotel, after that we were unable to help her anymore because of our limited funding, but with the help of our Advisory Board Members, they were able to help Mary and her family with permanent housing. Our Advisory Board members raised money to help Mary and her four kids. Now a cancer survivor , Mary and her four kids are in a stable place.
Like we helped this woman in need we want to be able to help more families. Unfortunately at this time we are unable to help everybody that walks through our doors because we need more people like our Advisory Board members to financially help those in need.
