The Salvation Army Bell Shelter provides comprehensive services for male and female homeless adults. These include:
- Case Management ? All client's see a case manager at least once per week minimally
- Counseling ? Psychological Services are provided through a collaboration with ENKI mental health services
- A licensed 128 -bed drug and alcohol program ? Client's receive treatment in a social model recovery center
- A "Back on Track" program ? Client's address the emotional and psychological barriers to homelessness and learn to overcome them
- A "Job search program, which assists unemployed homeless persons with gaining meaningful employment.
- A Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program ? Provides employment linkages for homeless veterans
- On site adult education classes offered through Los Angeles Unified School District. These classes can lead to a General Education Diploma (GED), computer competency, HIV/AIDS awareness and/or a security guard certificate. All clients attending classes have computer and internet access.
- Access to a mobile medial unit that to Bell Shelter 3-4 times per week to meet the medical needs of the clients.
The goal of The Salvation Army Bell Shelter is to assist in meeting the needs of the homeless population by addressing the myriad of reasons why persons become homeless and assisting them in developing a higher quality of life through independence.
Additional services include:
- 10 Beds funded by the Proposition 36 alternative sentencing program for non-violent drug offenders.
- 10 Beds funded by the Department of Mental Health
- 50 Beds funded by Veterans Per Diem funding
