The celebration of Thanksgiving is a cherished American tradition. During this time of year, at community centers across Southern California, The Salvation Army prepares and serves thousands of turkey dinners with all the trimmings for families who would otherwise go without.
For men and women struggling to make ends meet ... many with no place to call home ... a hot, nutritious meal is itself, cause for celebration. Sometimes, it may seem there is little to be thankful for, especially when faced with financial hardship or an uncertain future, but with your support, the Salvation Army can continue to provide year-round assistance for low-income families, including: food, clothing, utility and rental assistance, counseling and referrals.
Please consider supporting our efforts this Thanksgiving through Project Shield & Shelter. The need has never been greater. Make A Gift.
From now until December 14, for the first-time ever, customers can adopt and shop online for Angels at www.jcp.com/angel, providing tens of thousands of children and seniors facing hardship in communities across the country with Christmas gifts. More
