The Salvation Army Canoga Park Family Store Reopens After Flooding Last April
The Salvation Army is reopening its thoroughly-renovated Family Thrift Store in Canoga Park located at 21375 Roscoe Blvd. after flooding last April forced it to close its doors. The 12,000 square foot facility had not been updated in over a decade and was ready for a major renovation beyond the flooding repairs, including new paint, carpeting, lighting and fixtures to display merchandise.
In celebration, The Salvation Army invites the community to its grand re-opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, January 19 at 8:45 a.m., with doors opening to shoppers at 9 a.m. Customers will enjoy free coffee and donuts at the ceremony, along with special offers and sale items throughout opening weekend. Owned and operated by The Salvation Army for more than 30 years, the store is known for its great values on name-brand clothing and accessories, antique and vintage furniture, household items and one-of-a-kind treasures and collectables.
For more than 100 years, The Salvation Army has used the funds raised from the resale of quality donated clothing, furniture and other goods at bargain prices to sustain Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARCs) which provide spiritual, social and emotional assistance to men and women who have lost the ability to cope with their problems.
