The life of Jesus Christ displays the epitome of a life given to service.  The Bible reminds us that the poor will always be among us (Matthews 26:11).   Jesus knew and William Booth believed there there would always be a need for programs and services that seek to reach out to the less fortunate.  Because of the vision of the General William Booth and the sacrifices of both he and his wife Catherine, The Salvation Army has been providing services in Tacoma and Pierce County since 1888.

We offer the following programs and services:

  • Counseling
  • Rental Assistance
  • Food
  • Life Saving Prescriptions (exclusions include but are not limited to: Narcotics)
  • Transportation Assistance
  • Utility Assistance
  • Emergency Housing
  • Child Care
  • Nursing Home Visits (League of Mercy)
  • Youth Programs
  • Emergency Services
  • Disaster Relief

The Administrative Offices are located at 1501 6th Ave. in Tacoma.  For more information, please call (253) 572-8452.
