SALVATION Army mobile feeding units are providing round-the-clock assistance to firefighters battling wildfires in Texas, USA. The worst fires are still burning in Bastrop County, about 30 miles east of the state's capital city, Austin.

Transitional Center Faced with Funding loss

The Salvation Army Transitional Living Center's 80 percent success rate of helping homeless families re-enter society is considered high by industry experts. But the center recently learned it will not receive $100,000 in state funding that has been provided over the past decade to help pay for shelter, food, medical attention and life skills and employment assistance to homeless families and victims of domestic violence.
